bathrooms.... --shamefully behind....,.,.,.,.,.,

Broken Record,
Ironically my cheap eats mentor / guru just wrote about it too. Their bathroom was cute somehow, with the door, and the weird in a good way wall treatment. I didn't partake in the bacon fries, but clearly if you know me, I had to have the bacon burger. Both meat products ground in house together. Sounds like heaven right? But my ele-isms which require the food to not be touching completely interfered with my slice of heaven between a toasted bun. Somehow the fat wasn't fried and crispy enough for me, and the texture was off. But conceptually, thumbs up.

Outerlands --- the first time I was rightfully scolded for not immediately running to check it out. Man. It's beautiful. Candles, books, nice faucets, glam to the max. Not to mention the bread mixer right outside the door. Definitely one of my new faves. The riesling was goood, and the food even better.

Now that I'm a regular at the Herbst, every time, I use the bathroom downstairs to the right. The tiles and plumbing is super old and nice. While across the way, there's also a more modern one.

The House bathroom was semi nondescript, although the highlight was that while you wait for it, and yesh, you must wait, you can peek through a small window and watch all the goings on in the kitchen. The kitchen was remarkable small for all the glory that it produced.

The deYoung. Perfectly pleasant green color palate, fresh flowers, and no wait. Heavenly. And I'm still laughing about KC being scolded for his backpack in the world's most empty room.

The bathroom on the Sausalito ferry was roomier than I had expected. Perhaps they are anticipating some rowdy bathroom activities if the water is choppy.

And.
My new favorite thing is bathroom locations which require you to walk through the kitchen.
At Avatar's you have to walk past the dishwasher, past the zealous kitchen, down a long hallway, to finally get to the bathroom with yellow stalls. Nice.

Howard's Cafe is sort of like that too, aimlessly wandering around the kitchen to find the bathroom... which I find somehow cute, because it has a little window. But my favorite part is that the paper towel dispenser is outside of the bathroom.
